Before the NBA preseason began, fans were in two minds about the Los Angeles Lakers’ updated roster. Adding Russell Westbrook, to the LeBron James and Anthony Davis was one thing, but adding more veteran players had viewers thinking that they made a mistake making their franchise into the eldest team in the league. However, some even believed that this only improved their chances of adding another title.

But now, the Lakers have found themselves in a very tough spot. The number of injuries that have already popped up could very well derail their season. From Talen Horton Tucker, Trevor Ariza, to Malik Monk, all are facing health issues. They have lost all four of their preseason games and this doesn’t look so good for them,

This leaves the question, can LeBron James win his fifth Finals MVP in the upcoming season 2021-22? Of course, Bron has been resting for the regular season and his return will definitely change things around for them. Now, they are definitely the favorites to reach the NBA Finals. If they do, what will it take for Bron to win the Finals MVP title?

He will have to get past the play-in tournament and will have to defeat a first or second-seeded team in the first round of the playoffs. Adding another Finals MVP accolade will mean just one lesser than that of Michael Jordan‘s 6 Finals MVP.

But before that, the Los Angeles Lakers will have to worry about keeping their players injury-free. Until then, reaching the Finals would be too far-fetched a conclusion to come to.

The purple and gold have much more to prove than almost any other franchise. After all the criticism they had to bear with regarding their “old” super team, this will be their shot to dismiss any doubts that people have had.
