The Los Angeles Lakers watched a nightmare unfold right in front of their eyes. They had Game 2 in their grasp for almost the entire time. But just as the fans thought the Lakers would tie the series, it all went haywire. If the disappointing loss wasn’t enough, the Laker Nation also had to hold their breath late in the fourth quarter after LeBron James went down in agonizing pain, seemingly re-injuring his ankle that has troubled him for a couple of years now. Nonetheless, most fans weren’t sympathetic to The King and called him out for making excuses.

LeBron James will be ready to go

As James went down, it looked concerning. The 38-year-old rolled his ankle while landing from a rebound attempt. His reaction said it all – the left ankle was still bothering him. For the entire possession, James never got up and even then stumbled back up to tie his shoelaces. After the incident, one question circled the air; Is LeBron James healthy to play?

The media got a chance to speak to James after suffering an embarrassing defeat to the Denver Nuggets. According to Dave McMenamin’s report, the four-time champion seemed least bothered about his ankle.

Apart from his ankle trouble, it was a disastrous night for The King. He got off to an efficient start, but couldn’t get much to fall later. His horrid three-point shooting continued even tonight as he failed to make any of his six attempts. Two such tries came in the fourth quarter at a time the Lakers desperately needed a basket.

And now fans feel James will use his ankle as an excuse to resort to taking more shots from distance.

So far in the playoffs, LeBron James’ one struggle has been from beyond the arc. His jump shooting has tumbled down majorly. The Akron Hammer is shooting a shocking 23.3% from three-point range. Despite his poor conversion, his shot attempts remain steadily high at six per game.

After watching yet another terrible shooting night, NBA fans grew furious with the four-time Finals MVP. They feel his ankle scare could serve as his excuse for further games with high three-point attempts.
