The 2022 NBA Finals are here and how. We saw a great first game between the Golden State Warriors and the Boston Celtics. Steph Curry got out of the gates red hot and had 21 points in the first quarter alone. But Boston made a comeback to lead by two at halftime. Warriors would make another run of 38-24 to have a commanding lead going into the fourth quarter. But that’s where things started to change.

After taking in Golden State’s punches, it was time for Boston to fight back, and that they did. Boston would go on a 40-16 run to close the game and steal home-court advantage.

This was the largest point differential in the fourth quarter of an NBA Finals game.

Wake up call for the Warriors.

ESPN Analyst Stephen A. Smith had this to say, “You see you talk about styles making fights.. Boston Celtics know they are bigger.. know they are more physical.. Steph Curry explodes for 21 points in the first quarter.. they hold him to 13 points for the rest of the game.. Klay Thompson a relatively pedestrian finishes with 15 points.. couldn’t really really get off all night.

He gave a reality check to rising star Jordan Poole by saying, ” Jordan Poole absolutely awful in his first Finals game… you know 2 for 7 shooting from the field.. 9 points for the game… no factor offensively whatsoever was frustrated all night long.” He closed his remarks by saying, “The Boston Celtics went on a 17-0 nothing run and outscored the Golden State Warriors on their, on the Warriors turf 40-16 in the fourth quarter.”

All importamt Game 2

Game 2 has suddenly become a lot more important for both teams. If the Warriors lose, they risk going 2-0 down in the Finals with the next two games on the road. For the Celtics, if they win this game, they will look at the next two games on their home court and can dream of finishing the series and winning the series in Boston.
