“Afraid” Nikola Jokic Declined Mother’s Love and Sneaked in a Beer Through Intense Physical Transformation

The Serbian sensation has made sacrifices time and again in his career. At the age 0f 28, Nikola Jokic has already made a huge impact in the NBA by winning several accolades. Helping the Denver Nuggets in making it to the finals for the first time, the 2-time MVP is just one series away from a career-defining title. However, the effort put in by the versatile center to transform his body is mind-blowing.  

Shedding light on the process, an NBA insider shared how Nikola Jokic even had to decline his mother’s love in order to succeed in the league.

From entering as the 41st pick in the draft to four games away from winning a championship, Jokic has always trusted the process. Even after their dominant win against the Los Angeles Lakers, the Serbian center went on to put in some work right after the game. He has set his eyes on the main goal!

An insider shared in an interview, “After game 4 against the Lakers, he was lifting weights. He didn’t take a week off. He is lifting after every single game” However, the process started long back. The NBA insider revealed Jokic’s mother would fly from Serbia to cook for him. However, the 7’0 center was “afraid” to even take a bite when he was on his diet. Even though his mom believed he had done really good, Jokic would say “I don’t think I should eat the food.”

However, a sincere diet must always be cheated! Reportedly, Jokic “had a beer or two,” but the commitment never left. From running plays to shot-making, to rebounding, Nikola Jokic is currently the definition of “doing it all”

The 2-time MVP struggled to plank for even one minute initially. Though he has been an efficient center ever since he joined the NBA, Jokic couldn’t dominate in the playoffs until 2020. The Western Conference Finals MVP took full advantage of the pandemic.

The 28-year-old’s post-pandemic transformation went viral all over social media. Losing nearly forty pounds, Jokic later went on to win 2 MVPs and now is close to winning his first ring.
