With greatness comes criticism. Who better than star NBA players would know that? With every game comes hatred and critics bashing them for something else. It’s as if they can’t see a person grow. At least now, a hundred restrictions are placed in terms of what can be said and what can’t.

Ever thought about what the players earlier might have faced? Consider an all-time great player like Michael Jordan. The guy started breaking records the day he entered the league. Think about the criticism that he must’ve received. Not just from the outside, but from his team as well. This story is just one of the stories of him being criticized just because his teammate was jealous.

Michael Jordan being betrayed by his teammates

Michael Jordan was more or less a celebrity on and off the court. With him scoring 50 points consistently, there was a lot of jealousy that was going around the locker room. Jordan’s teammate Sam Smith had written a book in which he had criticized MJ a lot.

He said that MJ only focused on scoring himself and didn’t play the team game. This felt really offensive to Jordan because, according to him, that was not the case at all. He said in his defense that all he wanted was the team to win and if his scoring helped that, then be it. He also said that he doesn’t even care about the scoring title.

While being interviewed by Playboy magazine, he opened up about how he knew that someone would definitely throw dirt at him. But, at the same time, he said that he was shocked to know that his teammates were the ones to do that. He even says “If They Had So Much Hatred for Me, How Could They Play With Me?”?
