The NBA is recovering from a whirlwind of a week. It all started on the second day of the month when Kyrie Irving requested a trade from the Brooklyn Nets. Following this, the league saw one breaking news after the other until the mid-season trade window closed. As of now, the tectonic plates of the league have settled. With this in mind, the fans realized that the West Conference is now packed with superstars of the game. These superstars include Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, Kyrie Irving, LeBron James, Luka Doncic, and the list goes on. As this realization dawned upon them, Ja Morant‘s words from an interview echoed through the community.

Earlier in the year, Morant made a bold claim during an interview with ESPN’s Malika Andrews. Andrews had an important question for the Grizzlies star. “Who do you look around the league as you are studying, and say, we’re gonna have to run through them,” she questioned. Morant claimed that the one team was the Boston Celtics.

Andrews asked him if he felt threatened by any team on the West. To this, he said, “I’m fine in the West.” These claims resurfaced after more power was added to the West. Naturally, they questioned the NBA star about the same.

Via Boston.com, Morant claimed that the recent development didn’t matter to him. Following this, he said, “I said what I said, and I mean that.” He stated that his confidence would never change. Further, Ja added, “I don’t care who got something to say about it.” As his comments spread through the internet like wildfire, fans rushed to weigh in with their opinions.

NBA Fans wrote that Morant misunderstood the concept of confidence. They wrote that he was cringe and immature and was miles away from confidence. Fans claimed he needed to stay humble and take a “chill pill”. Many rushed to state their wish of ensuring Morant and his team gets beaten at each stage of the league.
