WNBA Star Brittney Griner is currently serving a nine-year prison sentence in Russia. As the US government tried its best to bring the WNBA player home, many celebrities voiced their support for Griner. Now, the most recent celebrity to join the ‘Bring Brittney Griner’ home movement is the Hollywood star, Vin Diesel.

However, it looks like the $255 million worth Hollywood actor retracted his statement about Griner’s release. Diesel uploaded a picture of him attending a Lakers game with a caption.

Vin Diesel deletes his Britney Griner post

In the picture, he was seen giving a thumbs-up while LeBron James and Anthony Davis turned their heads to see the actor. The caption to the picture said, “I need Brittney Griner home before Christmas.

And for a while, all the attention was on the actor who stole the show in the star-studded game of the Lakers. Even James and Davis seemed star-struck, seeing Vin Diesel in a white jacket and shades right behind their bench.

But it looks like Diesel has now taken down the post from his official Instagram account. Many fans in the comments section speculated that the Hollywood actor’s account must’ve been hacked.

But the post was on his official Instagram account for sometime before the Fast & Furious star took it down. Brittney Griner was detained at a Russian airport after she was caught with illegal substances in her luggage.

Many other celebrities who have voiced their concerns

Over the past few months, many celebrities have come forward voicing their concern and showing support for the release of the WNBA star.

LeBron James, Lisa Rinna, and Amy Schumer were one of the first celebrities to go on social media to support Brittney Griner. The U.S. state department categorized Griner’s imprisonment as ‘wrongfully detained’ back in May.

The government is still looking for any and all diplomatic solutions to bring the WNBA star home. Currently, on the case is the Office of the Special Presidential Envoy for Hostage Affairs.
