Needless to say, celebrities around the world and NBA stars have given their reactions regarding the same. While some feel Griner should serve her time in Russia, some feel the Government should try to bring her back.

Amidst all this, comedian and actor Michael Blackson put out a tweet that was not taken well by the fans. He wrote, “When Brittany Griner get out I want to be the first one to give her some deek.” He faced a lot of criticism for making such a joke on such a sensitive issue.

Moreover, he issued a clarification about his words shortly after. Blackson took to Twitter and wrote, “I know she’s getting out soon that’s why I’m joking so ya need to stfu Modasuckas.”

Amidst all the Brittney Griner jokes drama, Blackson let out his thoughts again on Twitter. However, this time it was not about Griner, rather, he touched upon jokes and how he will never change.

I don’t care how soft ya want comedians to be I’m not changing for no one, I make fun of any and everyone. I know this can never happen to me but I need ya to lighten up Modasuckas“, said Blackson.

This is possible if Russia agrees to a prisoner swap which will send notorious arms dealer Viktor Bout back to Russia. On the other hand, Griner and former US Marine, Paul Whelan can go back to their country.

According to the latest reports, Russian officials confirmed that they are in talks over a potential prisoner swap. Interestingly enough, this is the first time after Griner’s verdict that officials have confirmed talks.
