The NBA recently tweaked some major rules which might set precedence for future generations to come. According to reports, the association has removed marijuana from its drug testing program. This essentially means that NBA players are free to use marijuana while also having the freedom to invest in cannabis companies or franchises. The news spread like wildfire and has invited some eminent names in the cannabis world to set their sights on the league.

One of them happens to be boxing legend, Mike Tyson. The former World Champion has his own line of products and during a recent interview with TMZ, Tyson had some advice for NBA players.

Mike Tyson invites NBA players after major rule changes

Recreational use of marijuana and other cannabis-based products is not new to the league. Over the years, numerous athletes have come out and talked about their history with cannabis. The number of athletes talking about using marijuana is set to increase after the NBA essentially legalized consuming marijuana. If the league athletes really want to use the best products, they should opt for Mike Tyson’s products. At least that’s what the boxing icon claims.

During an interview with TMZ, Tyson said, “I would prefer [NBA players] to use my product. My product is the best product in the world. “I’m not tooting my own horn — it just is. Look at the write-ups from people that have tried it.”

Tyson founded Tyson 2.0, his own cannabis line in 2021. In just under two years, the company has already raised over $26.6 million in funding.

The Tyson 2.0 expansion is well on track. The brand is already based in 12 countries and Tyson recently opened his first coffee shop in Amsterdam. Moreover, several other products like cannabis-infused gummies are bestsellers around the world.

Top NBA players have confessed to using marijuana

Eminent NBA athletes like Steve Nash, JR Smith, and Kevin Durant have openly talked about their use of marijuana. Durant’s company, Thirty-Five Ventures, joined the advisory board of Canopy Rivers, a company based around cannabis in 2019.

Moreover, four-time NBA champion LeBron James has also confessed to using marijuana while in high school. King James admitted to smoking pot while in his junior year in the book, ‘Shooting Stars’. He took such measures due to the sudden surge of media and fan attention in the then 17-year-old’s life.
