After Russell Westbrook’s Ugly Spat With Lakers Fans, LeBron James Says Lakernation Can “Respond Anyway They Want”

LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers are not having a good season. The big move to acquire Russell Westbrook has not worked according to plan. Moreover, they have been dealing with injuries all season long. On top of that, the fans are starting to turn on the Lakers, especially Westbrook, who has hit back at the fans.

After Friday night’s game, James addressed the reporters. LeBron said he wanted to give Lakers fans “something to cheer about,” when asked about the crowd energy tonight. He said, “The Laker faithful know if bad basketball is being played, and they know if good basketball is being played. They have a right to respond any way they want.”

LeBron James says Lakers fans can do what they want

This comes after Russ’s ugly spat with the Lakers. Russ said that the fans have crossed a line and he and his family are being harassed. Stephen Curry and Magic Johnson have come to Russ’s support. Magic even pleaded with the fans to get off Russ. But it is unlikely that the heckling and harassment is gonna stop anytime soon.

Despite all this, it was a good night for the Lakers. They took on the Washington Wizards and Kyle Kuzma and Kentavious Caldwell Pope returned to LA for the first time since their trade. The Lakers took care of business courtesy of LeBron James, who dropped a 50 piece.
