Giannis Antetokounmpo is widely regarded as one of the greatest players of this generation. The Bucks centerpiece has led the franchise to their first NBA title in 50 years in 2021. Moreover, the superstar has won two MVP awards and is now on the run for a third. However, his elder brother has never been able to live up to Giannis’ reputation. For quite some time, critics have put Thanasis in dubious light on the back of his lackluster displays. Now some critics have pointed out that Thanasis is on an NBA roster only because of nepotism.

Fans have already accused the Milwaukee-based franchise of keeping Thanasis Antetokounmpo just to appease his mighty younger brother. According to The NBA Central’s recent tweet, three key personnel from the NBA have said that Thanasis would not be on an NBA roster without his brother’s assistance. “Hey, we know what that’s all about. It’s all about appeasing Giannis. But to answer your question, no,” replied an NBA general manager to the question of whether Thanasis would be on an NBA roster without Giannis’ assistance. An NBA scout and a player personnel have also said that Thanasis won’t even have an NBA career without his younger brother’s support.
