The Worm’s former teammate, Jack Haley, shared one such Vegas incident that ended up with Rodman losing a big amount of cash.

Dennis Rodman loses more money than he made

Former Chicago Bulls player Jack Haley recalled an incident from one of the times he and Dennis Rodman went to Vegas. Haley said that Dennis did not shy away from gambling for big stakes. Evidently, it was one of the things they had in common. Furthermore, they would spend the majority of their summer in Sin City. While Rodman played nothing else other than Craps, Haley was more into baccarat. During one such night at the casino, Rodman got lucky and made big bucks. According to Haley, Rodman won $89,000 in one night. However, the money didn’t stay long with Rodman as he lost a whopping $200,000 a week after the faithful night.

“Part of the $200,000 he lost, though, was the $89,000 he had won the week before. He won 89 the trip before, and he went back, and instead of the average $500 bet, it was a $5,000 bet. The next thing you know you?re in big trouble,” said Haley.

On the contrary, Rodman and Haley’s friendship actually began at a gay club. According to Haley, Rodman had taken him and his wife to a gay bar after having a pleasant dinner. Rodman was apparently trying to figure out the kind of guy Haley was. However, Haley instead shocked his former teammate when slipped a buck to the male stripper and after that night, the two NBA stars became the best of friends.

“I let him know, ‘Hey, this is not my world, but I?m not shocked by it,'” said Haley.
