Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors started off their road trip with a win over the San Antonio Spurs. After a disastrous stint on the road previously and coming off a three-game losing streak, the Warriors needed this win. Bagging the victory on a historic occasion, in front of a record-breaking 68,000 fans was the cherry on top. The Warriors dictated the narrative of the game from the get-go. They played like champions with eight players bagging double-digit points. With that said, the Warriors have a whirlwind of a week ahead of them, as they will finally visit the White House after a prolonged hiatus.

The Golden State Warriors clinched the championship title during the 2021-22 season. They celebrated with Dub Nation during the victory parade in San Francisco, followed by the ring night at the start of this season. As per tradition, the next step is visiting the White House. This visit is scheduled to happen during their current road trip and their leader Curry is nothing but excited about this.

Stephen Curry on visiting the White House

Earlier in the week, the Warriors posted a video of Curry on their Instagram handle. This video is the first time the two-time MVP showcased his true emotions about meeting President Biden in the White House. He said, “Ready to go road-tripping. Going to see the President.” Following this, he spoke to the media about the visit. “Excited about just the celebration of what we did last year,” Curry told reporters, according to a Fox News report, “It’s kind of like the one last moment to reflect on the accomplishment.”

This happens to be Curry and the Warriors’ first visit to the Presidential abode after visiting President Obama in 2016. The Warriors skipped on meeting President Donald Trump after winning the championships in 2017 and 2018. This led to, what Curry once admitted, a lot of “drama”.

The drama ensued after former President Trump publicly criticized Curry and the Warriors for missing out on the “honor”. The entire organization committed to spending their time in social service instead of visiting the White House.

With this in mind, the four-time champion said, “We’ve all kind of turned a page on what this year really means, but it is a really special honor.” He added that all the players and their families are also excited about the visit. They are scheduled to visit the White House after facing Washington Wizards on 16th January.
