This is that time of the year when teams try to tie down their players on long-term deals. This is due to the fact that they can start the new season in peace and that their best players are secured. Golden State Warriors recently extended Jordan Poole and Andrew Wiggins on long-term deals. Trae Young and the Atlanta Hawks have also made moves by reportedly extending De’Andre Hunter’s contract. The four-year extension will allow Hunter to avoid free agency next off-season.

Atlanta Hawks selected DeAndre Hunter 4th overall in the 2019 NBA draft. According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Hawks and Hunter have agreed to a four-year extension worth $95 million. Monday was the deadline for a rookie-scale contract extension and the Hawks managed to extend Hunter just in time.
