In the aftermath of several controversial actions earlier this season, All-Star guard Kyrie Irving now has made a trade request to leave the Brooklyn Nets. As reported by ESPN and The Athletic, he made this request after not receiving a contract extension offer that suited him. Furthermore, the NBA trade deadline is just days away. Meanwhile, Shetellia Irving, Kyrie’s agent and stepmother shared what happened only last week to Bleacher Report

During the course of her discussion, she explained how she approached the Nets about an extension. Especially after seeing that the contract that he had with the Brooklyn Nets is about to expire at the end of this season, he reportedly hoped to sign a four-year contract extension worth $200 million.

“I have reached out to the Nets regarding this,” is the statement made by Shetellia Irving. She added, “We have had no significant conversations to date. The desire is to make Brooklyn home, with the right type of extension, which means the ball is in the Nets’ court to communicate now if their desire is the same.”

Following the news surrounding his trade request, Al Horford‘s sister also shared her thoughts on the latest topic in the NBA.

Horford hinted that Irving has done this before, first asking for a contract extension, and now asking to be traded as that was the same set of events that saw his bitter departure from the Celtics.
