March Madness is right around the corner and tournament favorite Penn State suffered a huge blow. They faced Purdue in the Big Ten tournament final and almost got the best of them. However, Purdue put in a valiant effort to convert their lead into a win. During a recent appearance on CBS42, NBA legend Charles Barkley offered his insights into the game and had some advice for any team facing Purdue in March Madness.

While talking about the famed tournament which is starting on the 15th, Barkley revealed his favorites and talked about Penn State’s ‘blueprint’ to beat Purdue.

Charles Barkley breaks down Penn State’s second-half heroics

Purdue beat Rutgers and Ohio State during the Big Ten tournament and faced Penn State in the finals. The game was a treat for fans as the Boilermakers beat Penn State 67-65 in an exciting encounter. Although Purdue secured the victory and the title, Penn State’s valiant effort during the second half didn’t go unnoticed.

Phoenix Suns legend Charles Barkley recently revealed his thoughts on the game. During the interview, Barkley revealed that he watched the entire game. Moreover, he was greatly impressed by Penn State’s play.

Barkley said, “I watched that entire Penn state game yesterday against Purdue. That was a blueprint that sucker had to beat Purdue.” 

He also had some advice for any team facing Purdue in March Madness. Chuck asserted, “Just watch that masterpiece that Penn state put on em during the second half yesterday.”

Penn State launched a brilliant second-half attack against Purdue. However, their efforts were in vain as they lost 65-67. Zach Edey of Purdue had a monstrous game as he bagged 30 points and 13 rebounds. This is the Boilermakers’ second Big Ten title with their first coming in 2009.

Barkley names his favorites for March Madness

The NBA Hall of Famer has been clear about his favorite for the NCAA title for quite some time now. It is the No 1 seed Alabama. The other panelists in the interview seemed to also agree with Barkley’s claim.
