Los Angeles Lakers legend Shaquille O’Neal involved himself in a verbal brawl with Brooklyn Nets power forward Ben Simmons. The Big Diesel exposed some DMs by Simmons, resulting in a controversy regarding the point guard’s absence from the Brooklyn Nets roster last season. Ben Simmons recently opened up about his mental health struggles during the past year on J.J Redick’s podcast. He blamed Shaquille O’Neal for not reaching out despite calling Simmons his LSU brother.
Shaq recently fired back at Ben Simmons on his podcast, ‘The Big Podcast with Shaq’. The four-time NBA champion did not refrain from mentioning Ben Simmons’ ex-girlfriend Kendell Jenner and his Ferrari 488, said to be worth around $569K.

The three-time Finals MVP had only one thing to say to Ben Simmons. He seemed fine to Shaquille O’Neal. It looks like the battle between Ben Simmons and Shaquille O’Neal is not ending anytime soon.
Shaquille O’Neal unsure about Ben Simmons’ mental health argument
Shaq suggested that Ben Simmons would not talk about it. Nobody would know what is actually going on with him. Shaq did not hold back and said that the people who really struggle are down all the way. O’Neal continued, “The fact that you are sitting in your green leather, and you know, always flexing your famous girlfriend and then you Ferrari. You look fine to me.”

The Philadelphia 76ers and Ben Simmons had a difference in opinion, resulting in the three-time All-Star being traded to the Brooklyn Nets last season in a deal that included James Harden going the other way. However, a back injury has meant Simmons is yet to step on the court in a Nets jersey so far. Thus, the 26-year-old will be under increased pressure to perform when he returns to the court during the 2022-23 season.
Shaq has had a long and successful NBA career. The 15-time All-Star is well aware of the mental toils that the game poses to every athlete. But, he does not seem to believe Ben Simmons’ mental health argument surrounding his problems with his team.
