It is good to see Jerry West staying involved in Hollywood. However, his primary focus still remains basketball. During his career, Jerry West established himself as one of the greatest players of all time. During his 14 year career with the Lakers, he was an All-Star for each year that he played. Furthermore, he could lead the Los Angeles Lakers to an NBA championship in 1972. He is the only player in NBA history to win Finals MVP, despite losing in the Finals to the Boston Celtics in 1969.

In his second career, West has found similar success in the NBA. While his coaching career did not last long, West eventually became a scout for the Lakers, and then the general manager. As an executive, West was far more successful, winning several NBA titles. He was the coach that brought in players like Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Magic Johnson, Shaquille O’Neal, and Kobe Bryant to the franchise.

Presently, he serves as an executive for the LA Clippers and was instrumental in bringing in superstars Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. Regardless of his work as an executive, Jerry West will always be remembered as a Los Angeles Lakers legend.
