There has been a swell of support for WNBA star Brittney Griner in the last few months. She was arrested in Russia and was sentenced to nine years in prison. Following all that, she seems to have rallied an entire country behind her. However, there are a few who have been opposing her as well. And one of them seems to be a notorious American rapper who went on a rant to a fan.

Ever since Griner was arrested in February on the account of smuggling illegal substances, the US government has its citizens advised. According to reports, the US State Department recommended that Americans avoid traveling to Russia.
But rapper Tekashi 6IX9INE visited Russia, despite advice from the US government. And that was not the only thing he did.
6IX9INE disrespects Brittney Griner in viral video
6IX9INE visited Moscow and he went on a rant in a video taken by a fan. And he later posted a video of himself at the city square. And he openly criticized the WNBA Star. He said, “You know we out here. Sh-t is crazy… f–k Brittney Griner.”
When the video started making rounds, the star did not back down, and he defended himself. He said, “I’m not gonna lie I was drunk … but I stand on that … I’m in Russia while y’all scared to come here… argue with yourself smd I’m like that. Just remember I’m still alive while your favorite rapper is dead I’ll be mad too.”

There have many people who have been vocal against Griner. They have been using the fact that Griner protested against the national anthem and kneeled. And a few have even questioned the entire case against her.
Griner was arrested over 200 days ago and she is still in prison in Russia. Even the US Government is involved now and they have been negotiating her release with Russia. They offered a prisoner swap program to get her back home. But the talks have been proceeding slowly. The government have assured the family and friends that they are doing everything to get her back home.
But once in a while, we will see prominent celebrities speaking against the cause.
