Needing 36 points before tonight, the King started hot. Right at the end of the third quarter, James hit arguably the most defining shot in recent history. Likewise, the entire arena and his teammates rose in delight, jumping over the legend. However, his closest ally, Anthony Davis seemed rather disconnected.

Each season, AD and James rank as a top duo. Their dynamic produced instant results. Notably, the Lakers won their 17th title with the pair as the spearheads. However, since then, the days have been dark. The two haven’t reached their full potential. This has arguably been because injuries have derailed their ceiling.

The 2020 NBA champion has had a hard time this season so far. During his most dominant stretch, the Brow suffered an injury that sidelined him for over 20 games. In addition, despite the monster averages, he was not named an All-Star this season. To top it all off, the Lakers were down and AD wasn’t having the best night. These frustrations might have culminated in his unfazed reaction to the moment.
