The Los Angeles Lakers tasted defeat at the hands of the New York Knicks tonight. After a horrific opening quarter, they did their all to bounce back but failed to get the job done. Anthony Davis and Melo both struggled from the field. However, Russell Westbrook was on fire, emerging as the Lakers’ best player tonight, in the absence of LeBron James. However, AD believes the ‘King’ shouldn’t have been sidelined firstly, after the incident in the previous game.

LeBron received a one-game suspension after his on-court altercation with Isaiah Stewart. However, James wasn’t involved much in the clash that soon turned into a brawl. He tried to check up on Stewart as soon as he realized he hit him in the face. Although, the league explained the suspension, saying the hit by James caused the altercation.

Regardless, it seems like Anthony Davis is not buying that as he spoke against the suspension of his teammate.

Anthony Davis stands against the league for suspending LeBron James

After suffering the loss to the Knicks, AD spoke about the suspension of LeBron James. He said that he was surprised to see that LeBron received a suspension as he believes it was a mistake and it shouldn’t have happened in the first place.

Anthony Davis said, “I was surprised. I mean, I didn’t think he would get suspended. I don’t think anybody thought he was going to be suspended, to be honest. It was an accident. I mean, he accidentally hit Stewart in the face. But I guess the report came out that his hit to the face caused an incident, which is weird because he can’t control how a guy’s gonna react. I mean guys get hit in the face all the time, and we saying that caused the incident.”

Davis further said that he is one of the players who gets hit in the face the most. Hence, if he reacts that way every time, then the person who hit him would be suspended like LeBron James. While the suspension did seem fair for the impact of his mistake, it is clear Anthony Davis is standing by LeBron James and doesn’t support the league’s decision.

The Lakers were clearly not at their best without LeBron. Losing 106-100, AD and Melo struggled to get it going. Russell Westbrook came up big time with 31 points, 13 rebounds, and 10 assists for the purple and gold. Looking at the way LeBron reacted during the altercation, do you agree with Anthony Davis?
