All eyes have been locked on the Los Angeles Lakers when the new season began. The mighty 17-time champions became a den of troubles last year with injuries and an inadequate roster. Almost half the campaign later, the Showtime Lakers are stuck in a similar place. With Anthony Davis out, LeBron James has struggled to keep LA afloat despite balling out. In these times of darkness, there seems to be light for Los Angeles. The purple and gold might have a chance to welcome a new superstar, but the Laker nation chose violence in reacting to the news.

Before the new season even took off, the Chicago Bulls and Lakers were heavily involved in trade talks. Notably, the Lake Show were looking to swap Russell Westbrook for midrange assassin, DeMar DeRozan. The trade would eventually never happen. However, with both franchises failing to make the season count, they are meeting eyes yet again.

Looking at his franchise’s midseason state, Zach Lavine might just take his talents to join LeBron James and Anthony Davis. But the news brought out the brutal side of the Laker nation.

Zach Lavine the new Lakers superstar

Lavine has flown through the ranks as one of the top-scoring shooting guards in the league. A two-time dunk champion, the Bulls guard’s game is evolved drastically from just being a high flyer. Notably, the two-time All-Star can create an independent offense when taking on the isolation challenge. However, despite a dynamic partnership with DeRozan and Nikola Vucevic, the Chicago Bulls are just 14-18 so far.

According to Heavy.com, an executive believes Lavine is looking for a way out of Chicago. And the Lakers could possibly be his next destination. He said, “LaVine wants to go to the Lakers, that has been pretty clear for a while now.”

The Los Angeles Lakers have failed to keep a consistent offense through games. With AD out, they have arguably run out of firepower outside of the King. An addition of Zach Lavine might be the match made in heaven for LA. He is arguably an attractive prospect in their eyes with his 37% conversion from three. Not only will he space the floor better, but the purple and gold will secure a future duo with Davis and Lavine.

However, with the Brow out indefinitely, a trade for another superstar in LA seems blurry. Reports suggest the Lakers are targeting a smaller trade centered around Patrick Beverley. While it seems impossible, the addition of talent such as Lavine could truly be a momentum changer.
