Patrick Beverley has not cooled down his verbal diatribes against Chris Paul. He has instead taken it to a new level. Yesterday, Beverley, who called Chris Paul ” a cone” after the Phoenix Suns got annihilated against the Dallas Mavericks, didn’t take his foot off the gas but has instead pushed it harder in his recent appearances. Beverley is known for talking trash but to most analysts and fans, his criticism was excessive and felt a bit too personal.

Pat Bev, despite this, has been stubborn with his opinion of Paul. He has in fact expanded why he doesn’t like Chris Paul much on ESPN’s ” Stephen A’s World”.

He said, “ I appreciate everything he’s done for the game. This started when I was in high school out of college. I went to LeBron James’ camp. Steph Curry was my roommate. You have this certain team that plays the LeBron James, the Chris Pauls whoever whoever was at that point in time in front of scouts. I got a taste of little CP there. Destroyed him. Ask LeBron. I don’t have to lie. He’s your good friend (pointing to Stephen A Smith). So it’s always been something from there. I respect his game. I love, back in the day, he destroyed Tony Parker and all that kind of stuff in New Orleans but the praise that he gets and the slander that he doesn’t get when he doesn’t perform it’s not the same as it is with every other superstar. My question is why not”.

Beverley mentions he is the president of the Player’s Association. He continues, ” It’s kind of hard to slander the president“. Beverley mentions he doesn’t have an aggressive look and you can’t attack him in that way and that he has a calm demeanor and is a true professional. He said, ” But when you’re between the lines, all that goes out of the window”. He ended by saying that people lick Chris Paul’s “chops”.

Beverley has been going at CP3 since yesterday. He called him a ”cone” who can’t defend properly and mentioned that he doesn’t give sleepless nights to his opponents, unlike Stephen Curry or Luka Doncic. He also mentioned that Paul should get the “Ben Simmons” slander.

Patrick Beverley had famously pushed Chris Paul during a match. For which he was given a technical foul and was ejected from the match. His team, the Los Angeles Clippers, ended up losing the match 130-103 to the Suns and were eliminated from the 2021 NBA Playoffs. Beverley ended up apologizing to him but it looks that it didn’t simmer the hatred he had for the latter.
