Ben Simmons has been the talking point of the NBA this year. After his fallout with the Philadelphia 76ers, he refused to play for them and eventually joined the Brooklyn Nets.

Simmons has faced the media’s wrath prior to his move to the Nets and has had no respite, even after changing teams. Among the various personalities to bash Simmons is Avengers star, Anthony Mackie.

The “Falcon” fame actor bashed Simmons for his shooting form during the NBA playoffs. Moreover, this came during the ESPYs, which were attended by celebrities from all factions of life. The award facilitates athletes for their team-related or individual performances originated by ESPN. During one such ESPY award show, Mackie ridiculed Simmons in a hilarious fashion.

The Avengers star said, “Ben Simmons took home a special ESPY Award for his humanitarian work. Ben Simmons has been building orphanages completely out of his playoff bricks.” He was joined by two young girls who said, “Thanks, Ben Simmons!

Interestingly enough, some of Simmons’ horrible misses and an under-construction building were shown in the background while Mackie bashed Simmons.

With all the Ben Simmons slander going around the world, you must be interested in knowing the context behind the hate. Simmons has faced the fire ever since his underwhelming performance against the Atlanta Hawks during the 2020-21 season playoffs.

Since then, the Australian refused to play for the Philadelphia 76ers. After a long struggle of offloading Ben, the 76ers finally agreed to trade him to the Brooklyn Nets in order to land James Harden.

Safe to say, Simmons’ life in Brooklyn has not been any easier. Despite joining the ranks of Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, Simmons did not participate in a single game for the franchise. Moreover, he did not step on the basketball court for the entirety of the season.
