The video is a timeless relic of arguably the greatest duo in the history of basketball.
Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant didn’t have the best of relationships during their eight years together playing with the Lakers. However, they shared a mutual respect for each other’s craft. This clip displays the dynamic between the two perfectly.

Shaquille O’Neal told Kobe Bryant to take off Jordan’s jersey
Shaquille O’Neal posted this clip from 2002 to jog everyone’s memory about the dominant force the early 2000s Lakers used to be. After all, winning three chips in a row is never a coincidence.

Meanwhile, the clip shows Shaq and Kobe celebrating a championship together for the very last time. Kobe Bryant is wearing Michael Jordan‘s Bulls uniform as a tribute to his idol. However, Shaq tells him to put on his own jersey.
“You need to take that jersey off and put your own jersey on playa,” the Big Diesel says to Kobe. As it turns out, Shaq and Kobe’s Lakers are the first team in the league to complete a three-peat after Jordan’s Bulls. Therefore, the 2000 MVP is pretty justified in his request.
Shaq and Kobe celebrate their third championship
In his speech at Kobe Bryant’s memorial, Shaq talked about his relationship with Kobe. He explained that his very public scuffle with the five-time world champion was mostly a ruse to bait the media.
In actuality, they shared a very professional and amicable relationship. And their common desire to win championships fueled their partnership.

In this clip, that fraternal love is at full display. At the very beginning, Shaq greets Kobe saying, “Congratulations, the greatest“. On the other hand, Kobe replies, “Congratulations, the most dominant.”

Afterward, they both celebrate their victories by taking pictures together. Shaq sums it up aptly while taking the picture, “Baddest duo ever-Superman and Batman.” In 2004, Shaquille O’Neal would leave for the Miami Heat.
