The Rock & Roll culture has lost one of its most important assets today! 8-time Grammy winner Tina Turner passed away at the age of 83 due to a kidney disease she developed recently. Turner had one of the most revolutionary careers of all time as she was even considered the ‘Queen of Rock & Roll’. The 7-time Billboard winner’s impact was not just felt in the States, but all over the world. With glamorous costumes and a magical voice, Turner single-handedly caught the eyes of millions during her career. However, her unexpected loss today has left many in denial. 

4-time champion LeBron James, ex-President Barack Obama, Keith Urban, and many more shared their condolences on social media.

4-time Grammy winner Keith Urban shared an emotional note on his Twitter today. Urban gave the 8-time Grammy winner a legendary tribute in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in October 2021. However today, Urban couldn’t believe the passing as he tweeted, “I just heard about Tina Turner’s passing, and it hit my heart… I’m grateful that we have the music and the performances… Thank you for everything you gave Tina.” 

President Barack Obama shared his condolences on Twitter as well. The 61-year-old shared, “Tina Turner was raw. She was powerful. She was unstoppable. And she was unapologetically herself—speaking and singing her truth through joy and pain; triumph and tragedy. Today we join fans around the world in honoring the Queen of Rock and Roll, and a star whose light will never fade.”

4-time MVP LeBron James shared a tribute on his Instagram story. With Turner singing in the background, James shared a note in his story, “Rest in Paradise Queen Tina!”. In addition to all the above celebrities, Stephen A Smith shared a heart-touching video to honor the queen of Rock & Roll.

The 55-year-old in the video shared, “The great Tina Turner, Queen of Rock, passes away at the age of 83.” Smith went on to sing a few lines from Turner’s famous song, ‘What’s Love Got to Do with It’. He added, “I loved her spirit…I never had the pleasure of meeting her, encountering her, but her music will live on forever.”

As Smith said, Turner’s impact will always be felt through her music. The 83-year-old single-handedly made a humongous impact, and it will be felt further even after her passing. Meanwhile, here are what fans’ think about the Rock & Roll queen:
