Change is the aptest term to describe the?Brooklyn Nets?after the trade deadline. A franchise with the offensive tandem of Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving lost its stars in a matter of days. Several new faces swarmed their ranks. Likewise, the roles of each player have to be figured out. Talents such as Mikal Bridges and Cam Thomas have welcomed the new challenge and thrived in their new fit. However, the story of one star remains gloomy. Notably,?Ben Simmons?hasn?t adapted to the new-looking Nets just yet.

Unfortunately, the entire system flipped just as he seemed to be finding his place besides Kevin Durant and KAI. Now with a new roster and teammates, the Australian doesn?t have an answer for his fit.

Ben Simmons can?t figure out his role with the new-looking Nets?

During the two blockbuster trades, Brooklyn became home to many new stars. Bridges, Johnson, Finney-Smith, and Spencer Dinwiddie, were arguably the most prominent names. Starters for their previous teams, the four have resumed a similar role with the Nets. Once the only defensive stopper, Simmons now has major competition. Likewise, his limited offensive arsenal has seen the star come off the bench.

With so many changes, Ben Simmons is struggling to keep up.?In an interview with New York Daily Times, the former number one overall pick said he has ?no idea? his role within the organization. Simmons blamed change for his confusion. Despite the difficulties, he is willing to give the team whatever they need.

However, NBA fans saw yet another moment to aim at. And they fired big.

Ben Simmons might have to adjust to a new role from the bench this season. While his knee and back aren?t bothering him anymore, his inability to score could be a disadvantage. Bridges, who finished runner-up for DPOY seems to have taken the place of their lead-stopper. Moreover, the former Phoenix Suns star can shoot threes and score on the inside. In their recent win against the Miami Heat, the 26-year-old ran through for a career-high 45 points and 8 rebounds.

As far as Ben Simmons? fit goes, he could transform into a playmaker off the bench. Moreover, his defensive prowess could come huge in crunch time. However, regaining his place as a starter doesn?t seem likely this season. It will be a tough transition considering he started every game with the Sixers. But it might be best for the current Brooklyn Nets to have a two-way floor general as their Sixth Man.
