The Lakers needed something special tonight, an anchor to close out the series against a resilient Warriors team. And this time, a 38-year-old superhuman stepped up to the challenge. LeBron James was crafty, full of finesse, and had an aura of confidence as he dazzled the crowd tonight. He was aggressive all night and set the tone early for the Lakers. Fans were ecstatic as James looked like his unstoppable self, confidently driving to the basket. Yet one fan of his took his performance as validation for him being the GOAT over Michael Jordan. Josiah Johnson, who is popular for hosting a podcast besides former NBA star Gilbert Arenas, wanted the Dub Nation, in particular, to ‘bend the knee’ and accept The King as the greatest.

“Warriors fans I’m feeling generous. You have 5 minutes to repent for your sins, bend the knee and accept LeBron as your GOAT and savior,” tweeted Johnson.

Here is what other fans had to say:

Yes, it was one of those special LeBron James nights. But did he do it all alone?

The Lakers are more than a two-man team

The Lakers can’t forget the impact of the other stars, especially Anthony Davis. He might not have scored as many as his counterpart, but AD was the show-stopper. His presence on the interior restricted the Warriors to operate at the perimeter, similar to what he did to the Memphis Grizzlies.

Lonnie Walker IV was once again sensational, scoring 13 points to lead the bench unit. Finally, Austin Reaves made basketball look easy. Marked by an electric half-court shot to close out the first half, he finished the game with 23 points, 5 rebounds, and 6 assists.

There may have been a time James had to carry the Lakers on his back. But since Rob Pelinka’s magic at the trade deadline, the Purple and Gold have several stars who can take control of the game. Having multiple threats and a lockdown defense is arguably the biggest reason the Lakers have made it this far.
