The National Basketball Association announced last December, that it is planning to expand by adding two more teams. This is for the roster to keep it even with 32 teams.

The NBA is still considering whether to add two more teams in the future, despite comments from Commissioner Adam Silver that the league was digging deeper into the idea. “You know, we’re very appreciative of the markets that have indicated an interest in having an NBA team,” Silver told reporters.

While this news may be too late for fans who are still hoping that Sonics’ name might one day come back, at least now there could potentially be more basketball action right here in their own backyard!
