Billionaire LeBron James Gets Real on Mental Health Advice to His 18-Year-Old Self: “It’s Okay Sometimes to Hold Some Stuff In..”

Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James recently offered some advice to his 2003 self when he just started out in the league aged 18. When asked about what he would tell younger LeBron about mental health, James replied, “You have to protect that.”

Talking about today’s generation, mental health is arguably one of the biggest priorities of every individual. When the world sees the lavish lifestyles of their favorite athletes, it appears that they have every comfort. This is not always true, as even the greatest are in search of mental peace sometimes. In his debut appearance in the podcast, ‘Let’s Taco ‘Bout It’! James talked about many aspects of his life and career. One of the major highlights was his mental health.

The interview began with the four-time NBA champion’s arrival, which left the youngsters speechless and overjoyed. He spoke about his mental health and said, “It’s okay sometimes to hold some stuff in, but if you hold it then too long, it can become overwhelming”.

LeBron James shared the ways one can improve your mental wellness. He advised the kids to surround themselves with friends, parents, or guardians with whom they could talk in order to relieve the energy and tension within them. Before a big game, LeBron has people he can talk to and release all the pressure. And he recommended the kids do the same before a big test or quiz.

Later, the Los Angeles Lakers legend said, “Just talking to someone I think that helps out a lot.” And he further added, “I would tell my younger self just to make sure to communicate, let it be known how you are feeling and talk about things”. One of the hosts added that the tips given by James would be appreciated by everyone, even his 18-year-old self.
