Two decades after his retirement, Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan is still massively popular. His charisma and style are hat-tipped by many and MJ is arguably the only athlete to enjoy the worldwide fame that he has garnered even after retiring from sport. Stars and celebrities are understandably a bit cautious when commenting on the legend whose more-than-household-name popularity may seem a tad intimidating.

Multiple Academy Award winner Ben Affleck recently stumbled his way through the answer to a Michael Jordan-question during an interview. The report revealed Affleck’s association with His Airness for his next feature film. 

Though the Gone Girl star has kept delivering on expectations since his Good Will Hunting screenplay written at a young age, he found himself in a significant test to prove his skills on Air. Affleck directs and acts in the upcoming film on Michael Jordan’s legendary Nike deal.

Michael Jordan keeps Ben Affleck on his toes

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Ben Affleck opened up about his upcoming directorial. The interviewer seemingly had Jennifer Lopez’s husband fumbling for an explanation when she asked him about his relationship with MJ and his portrayal in the movie. Even though Affleck has had his fair share of moments with Jordan, he made sure that he conveyed it to the reporter appropriately. He said, “If you’re going to fu** around with talking about Michael Jordan, do it respectfully.”

He revealed that he played cards with MJ on several occasions and that they have mutual friends.

The star further expressed his awe for the Chicago Bulls legend by adding, “I’ve never known anybody with that kind of charisma and power who walks into a room and it just reverberates.” The star recounted his meetings with His Airness to discuss the upcoming film.

Air Jordans are a household name – by themselves! 

Given how the Chicago Bulls legend could ramp up a sports brand, it isn’t surprising that Ben Affleck would want to tell their story and himself tread cautiously about his relationship with MJ.
