Recent Oscar winner Will Smith once revealed how close he and MJ are. A few years back when Will Smith appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! he disclosed that he and MJ were actually good friends and they have often spent some time together.

Jimmy Kimmel showed an old picture of Will Smith with Michael Jordan and Will said that he had spent a lot of time with MJ during dinners and stuff. Will Smith admitted that along with Tiger Woods, Michael Jordan was the most competitive person he knew. But Will also revealed that paying the bill was not one of those things that MJ wants to compete and win at.

Jimmy asked, “When you go to dinner with Michael Jordan, is he like racing you to pick up the check?”

Jimmy jokingly said, “So there’s where you’re beating him.”

Will hilariously answered, “Yeah, somehow you always get your hands to the check before him.”

“Michael would compete with anything. If we’re drinking water, mike would be, “race you.” you can’t beat mike at anything. Mike’s not going to play. If he can’t beat you, he’s not going to play. Because I considered myself competitive till I spent time with them [Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods].” Will said about the two legends MJ and Woods, “It’s another level. Like another command of their minds. You see why they win. Because of that kind of mindset.”

The competitiveness, winning mentality, and the desire to be the best every time and in front of anyone really make Michael Jordan what he is today. However, hearing this story from Will Smith makes one realize that even the legendary Jordan is human and does not want to compete for everything.
