LeBron James continues to grab the attention of the NBA world. Meanwhile, no matter what the state of the Franchise is, Los Angeles Lakers are also the center of the attraction. The effect is so profound that even when two different teams are in the finals; they are in the headlines frequently. The combination of two such entities is going to generate a lot of engagement from fans, players, coaches, and managers alike. Every failure and success is magnified tenfold when they are involved.
Therefore, when during the championship parade, Denver Nuggets’ announcer Vic Lombardi called coach Michael Malone, the Lakers’ daddy, the NBA world was left bewildered. Naturally, King James couldn’t resist addressing such rhetoric and one of his former teammates also took advantage of the hoopla.

LeBron James’ Insta post blows up, catches the attention of former teammate
Amidst the liquor-laden celebration, it seems like Lombardi and the Nuggets got carried away. They fired shots at LeBron James and Coach Malone and also made jokes about the legendary Point Forward retiring soon. This is in the wake of Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets sweeping the Lakers in the Playoffs, avenging a 1-4 loss during the 2020 Conference Finals. That’s why emotions were running high and the Lakers became the prime target. The Lakers’ wing was also fast to respond in a subtle but piercing manner.

His response also paved the way for some current and former NBA players to respond. One such player was LeBron’s 2021-22 season teammate, Carmelo Anthony. Anthony responded to the post by stating, “When in doubt. STAYME70”. This is the official mantra of his company. Melo has used this mantra for years now and the #7 was his jersey number during his Knicks years. When inverted, it also makes the letter L, translating to Stay Melo. Anthony launched the brand last year in December and it has already sold out its products.
The former NBA scoring champion cheekily used this viral post to promote his brand. While the 2021-22 season was a disaster for the Lakers, it was the last season for Melo who contributed in big ways. It also helps that billionaire James became close to him during his time with the Lakers. The four-time champion had poured his heart out when the former Nuggets Swingman retired a month ago.

Anthony’s net worth can increase a lot more
Melo’s current net worth is $170 million dollars and it can increase a lot more. Since his brand STAYME7O is selling out quickly, there is a high chance he may enter the $300 million territory soon. Adding his NBA contracts and business deals, the wealth generation is juicy. As per Forbes, he makes $6 million through endorsements.
His entry into the business world was quick. He signed a deal with Jordan when he signed a six-year $3.5 million dollar deal when he was just 19. He has invested in Overtime which aims to pay high schoolers as professional basketball players.
