“Boy Was Running for His Life”: Players Raise Hands in Violent Scenes at NCAA Game Leaving Basketball Fans Going Head Over Heels

The Bryant Bulldogs took down the Syracuse Orange in a close battle. The final score was 73-72, with the Bulldogs barely edging out with the win. But tempers rose to an extreme during the game when players decided to throw hands at one another. And before you know it, the teams were in a full-on scuffle during the game.

With seven minutes left to play in the first half of the game, the Syracuse guard Judah Mintz slapped Bryant guard Doug Edert. Mintz slapped Edert while walking away from a collapsed Bryant player on the floor.

Things got heated during the NCAA matchup between Bryant and Syracuse

Doug Edert wasn’t going to let that pass. He took a swing back at Judah Mintz. Although Mintz did not retaliate, his teammates sure did. The Syracuse big man ran towards Edert to confront him for throwing hands. But Edert did not want any part of it. He ran away dodging the opposing team’s player while his teammates stepped in.

Even assistant coaches and players from the bench ran to the floor to step in. Basketball fans just went head over heels over the whole altercation commented on the viral post. One fan replied, “Boy was running for his life.” Here are some more reactions from Twitter.

Fans had a mixed reaction to the whole altercation between the two players. This incident led to the ejection of both guards from the game. However, it wasn’t just these two players who had to leave. Multiple other players and coaches from both sides were ejected after the scuffle.

Players Kvonn Cramer and Tyler Brelsford were also ejected along with assistant Phil Martelli Jr. For the Syracuse side, assistants Allen Griffin and Adrian Autry were ejected along with Peter Corasaniti, the director of basketball operations.

The Bryant Bulldogs went home with the win, despite the violence on the floor. The Bulldogs are now 5-1 as opposed to the Orange who are currently 3-3.
