WNBA Star Brittney Griner has been the talk of the country and the world for some time now. Her arrest in February has caused political storms which have had cascading effects. Despite talks going on, there is no update on her release.

Back in 2014, Brittney Griner was engaged to a fellow WNBA Player Glory Johnson. The two players had been together for a while and got engaged. Despite some trouble, the couple decided to tie the knot in 2015.

Even after facing difficulties in the relationship, there was some love between the two as Glory Johnson mentioned. She said that Griner called herself ‘Dad’ in a situation and even said that she would still love even if Johnson was not pregnant.

After a year after the marriage, the couple revealed that they were blessed with two kids. However, after some time, Griner requested an annulment. And after getting denied, the couple decided to get divorced, which was finalized in 2016.

Despite being divorced, Johnson said she was still concerned about Griner. She adds, “After all the things that she put me and my family through, I should hate this person. But at the end of the day, I still worry about how she’s taking all this.”

Brittney is still in prison amid talks

After being sentenced over a couple of weeks ago, Griner is set to file an appeal against her verdict. She has discussed it with her lawyers and they have appealed the sentencing. But several sources say that despite this, the situation is unlikely to change any time soon.

And as far as the talks are concerned, there hasn’t been any major update so far. The United States government said that they have offered a prisoner swap deal with Russia and are interested in getting Griner and another American citizen back home. And for the first time last week, the Russian Government acknowledged that talks have been going on between the two countries.

These talks will certainly take some time and Griner will be hoping that she gets back home. Her family, friends, fans, and loved ones eagerly awaiting news of her release. Even her ex-wife would hope that she gets back home safely.
