The Memphis Grizzlies beat the Phoenix Suns by 30 points on Monday. With this win, the Grizzlies have now won ten games in a row. Their current nature of being unstoppable continued to grow with assurances from their stars Ja Morant and Desmond Bane. Morant bagged 29 points while Bane registered 28 points in the game. Amid their domination, Morant’s celebration after a play left NBA Twitter unimpressed.

During the third quarter of the game, Morant dribbled toward the paint with Saben Lee, a 10-day contract player, on his tail. As he tried to shoot, the referee called a foul on Lee while Morant tumbled down to the floor and fell on his back. Despite this, Morant’s shot attempt was successful. With this excitement and foul call, Morant danced on the court and mouthed the words “he can’t guard me” while pointing at Lee. Fans were quick to react to the celebration.

The game between the Phoenix Suns and the Memphis Grizzlies

With this loss, the Phoenix Suns’ woes continue as most of their players are inflicted with injuries. Three games before this game, for the Suns, the hope was to capitalize on the winning performance against the Golden State Warriors but this has been to no avail. Their star Mikal Bridges had a 23-point game while Deandre Ayton bagged 18. But this left minimum impact on the scoreboard.

On the other hand, while Morant and Bane led the way for the Grizzlies, Jaren Jackson Jr contributed to the win with 18 points, 6 blocks, and 8 rebounds. Grizzlies power forward Brandon Clarke added 13 points to the mix. Despite bagging the win, their coach Taylor Jenkins believed that his team can do better. According to the ESPN game report, he claimed that the Grizzlies are “just trying to find different ways to win ball games”.
