A storyline of struggle has been the common theme for the Los Angeles Lakers over the past few seasons. After missing out on the post-season last time, they have started off the new season in a worse fashion. Losing to city rivals, Los Angeles Clippers, the once mighty purple and gold are now 2-9. Former Laker, Nick Young chipped in with a piece of advice for LeBron James in these difficult times.

A plethora of problems has put the Lakers in a challenging spot. However, their gravest problem might be the decline of their superstar duo. Both LeBron James and Anthony Davis have started the season slowly. Father time seems to have taken a personal vendetta against the King who is shooting his career-worst mark from distance. On the other hand, AD looks like a shadow of his 2020 self averaging 23 points and 10 rebounds. They have failed the eye test in the 11 played games so far this season.

Likewise, Young believes the Lakers duo needs a power shift. Notably, Anthony Davis needs to assume center stage of the offense.

Fans rip former Lakers star for advice over LeBron James

20 years into a career of highlights, the King finally showed he is human. This season he hasn’t looked himself. After a mind-shattering 30 points per game in Year 19, the fans expected him to return the same. However, the 37 year old has looked visibly slow while struggling to make his shots. Watching his decline has made Young believe that LeBron James needs to take a step back.

Young said: “He’s shooting too much. He’s shooting five, 10 threes a game. When LeBron turn into a 3-point shooter? I know he can’t go to the hole like he used to.” The former Lakers guard further said, “Let A.D. be MVP.”

However, fans just saw his insights as an attempt to stay in the news.

Young isn’t the only man who believes Anthony Davis needs to be the star. Notably, Charles Barkley has bashed the Brow for the last couple of seasons for his lack of production. AD was meant to take over the keys of LA from an aging LeBron James. At one time he was the most dominant big man in the NBA. However, with the frequent occurrence of injuries, his game has declined.
