The State Farm Arena witnessed one of the NBA’s nail-biting games this weekend. The Atlanta Hawks and the Toronto Raptors game went into overtime and then to the closing seconds. The Raptors’ fate was sealed when AJ Griffin made the game-winning shot. While the rest of the Hawks squad was celebrating, Trae Young made a gesture at the Raptors bench, causing a stir on NBA Twitter. As one of the fans said, “Bro wants the whole league to hate him.”
On Saturday night, the Hawks defeated the Raports by just 2 points, the final score was 124-122. The game was extremely close throughout. Trae Young assisted AJ Griffin to finish the game, and Griffin made a two-pointer to give his team the win. Young then made a waving motion toward the Raptors’ bench soon after making the game-winning assist.

Notably, this was not the first time Young created traction on the internet because of his actions. The NBA world, especially New York Knicks fans, can never forget when Young torched the Knicks and bowed down in front of the fans to add salt to the wounds.

Trae Young was the night’s standout performer, scoring 33 points, 3 rebounds, and 13 assists in 42 minutes. De’Andre Hunter was another key contributor for the Hawks, scoring 22 points. On the other hand, Toronto Raptors’ OG Anunoby’s 27 points and Scottie Barnes‘ 28 points kept them in the game, but it was insufficient in the end.
The Atlanta Hawks currently sit in 3rd position on the Eastern Conference table with a 10-6 record so far. And one of the key performers for the team has undoubtedly been Trae Young. Young has played in 14 games so far and scored an average of 26.9 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 9.3 assists per game.
