LeBron James and his wife Savannah were high school sweethearts. In 2013, the couple tied the knot. Since then, their family has become a clan of five. With two sons and a baby daughter, their family is one of the most popular celebrity families in the country. And recently, they went out of their comfort zone in a never before seen moment.

King James posted a picture from the shoot on his Instagram. In the caption, he wrote, “There’s King’s and Queen’s/Royalty in America as well and I hope I can be one of the ones who showcase that on a daily basis.

However, the pomp and the razzle-dazzle left a bad taste in the mouth of many NBA fans. Some of them were also put off by the ‘Royal’ comparisons. Therefore, comparing LeBron James to popular model Kim Kardashian, the NBA nation expressed their feeling.

The King’s household welcomed Vanity Fair into their Los Angeles home to grace the magazine cover. They gave fans the inside stories about their family. For Savannah, it was a transitional moment for herself and the three children. Calling her household a “dope family”, she wanted to put forward the strong bonds of the family.

However, the lavish photo shoot of the NBA family saw fans call out the six-time NBA champion for the ‘Royal’ imagery and comparisons. The NBA community flooded Twitter to criticize the James’ family photoshoot as an egotistical display. Here are some of the reactions.

Man, his ego knows no bounds. Really is the Kim Kardashian of the NBA“, wrote @BellsWorld2 on Twitter. While another fan acted on the same rhythm and was expecting a new show just like the Kardashian-Jenner clan, “I can’t wait for bron to retire then they all need a show “keeping up with the James”.

A few other fan comments went a different direction, @6Hogg6 wrote. “Man couldn’t let Curry’s Rolling Stone cover breathe for one day”; while @Fire__Monkey23 wrote “Never seen MJ do this“.

Meanwhile, many fans also expressed their appreciation for the brilliant photoshoot, comparing them to the Royal Family.

Yet another fan was in awe of the photoshoot: “It’s a Vanity Fair cover shoot, of course it’s going to look like this… like every photo shoot they put into their magazine.

While the hate is inevitable, the James household might have deserved this honor. Heading to 38, LeBron James is still paving his path to greatness. Still, on top of his game, his longevity is superhuman. Savannah is an entrepreneur and a well-renowned designer. As for the kids, all three are busy with their dreams. The youngest, Zhuri has her own YouTube empire with over 200,000 subscribers. In addition, Bryce and Bronny James have both focused on their basketball journey with Sierra Canyon.
