The New Orleans Pelicans managed to make it to the play-in tournament despite missing star forward Zion Williamson for more than half the season. While they could have sealed the 5th seed if results went their way on the final day, they dropped down to the 9th spot after losing to the Minnesota Timberwolves. Needing two wins in do-or-die situations, the Pelicans would love to have Zion back on the court. After his surprising claim on his return to the team, the NBA buffs continue to throw shade at Williamson on social media.

Previously, reports revealed that Williamson wouldn’t be making his return for the Play-In tournament. With no timetable for his return, Williamson might sit out even if the Pelicans make it to the playoffs. The young forward continues to miss out on crucial games as he faces fans’ wrath.

Considering the difficult situation around the New Orleans Pelicans, Zion Williamson‘s return might be very helpful for the team. However, the young forward seems hesitant to get back on the court. Williamson missed out a majority of his rookie season as he played only 24 games in 2019-20. Yet again this season, the 6’6 forward has played only 29 games and stays sidelined due to a hamstring injury.

When asked about his return, Williamson mentioned, “Physically I’m fine. Now it’s just a matter of when I feel like Zion”. He further added, “I understand the magnitudes of these games coming up” mentioning the do-or-die game tomorrow.
