The Denver Nuggets’ Kentavious Caldwell-Pope recently shared his thoughts on former Los Angeles Lakers teammate Anthony Davis. He mentioned a few comments that have made the rounds online. 

NBA fans went berserk after KCP said that, in his opinion, AD’s buzzer-beater three-pointer was the difference that helped the Lakers win the Western Conference Finals in 2020.

He believes that if he hadn’t made that shot, the championship scenario would have been different. It was 1-0 at the time for the Lakers in the series before AD gave the Lakers a 2-0 lead. “I always tell people this story,” Caldwell-Pope said, “If AD didn’t hit that three, I figure we would’ve lost that series. That’s what I think about this Denver team.”

Their performance was outstanding as they defeated the Denver Nuggets in five games before facing the Miami Heat in the Finals. The Lakers beat the Nuggets 105-103 in Game 2 of the series before going on to win 4-1. 

Former Laker teammate with Anthony Davis, Caldwell-Pope joins the Nuggets

Caldwell-Pope was acquired by the Nuggets from the Washington Wizards in exchange for Monte Morris and Will Barton. In his introductory news conference, he made these comments prior to the Nuggets’ second Summer League game during the off-season.

After that, NBA fans started commenting on this on social media, mentioning their thoughts in hilarious ways. Others even mentioned saying: “Bubble ring doesn’t count”. Another said, “That’s wild when dudes go to the opposing team the switch up with the quickness.”

During Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals, Anthony Davis scored 31 points while LeBron James scored 26. In addition to his 30 points, Nikola Jokic also dished out nine assists for the Nuggets. Numerous headlines have been written about this as there have been many rumors about the players to be on the team next season.
