For over a season, Russell Westbrook has been blamed for the Lakers’ poor last season. This off-season saw a change in the coaching of Frank Vogel. Stephon Marbury, who was once an NBA All-Star, has different opinions on why the Lakers performed poorly. He takes the burden off Russell Westbrook and puts LeBron James in the spotlight. Stephon once called out LeBron James for not being near Michael Jordan as an NBA player. He praised Jordan’s otherworldly gameplay and portrayed LeBron as part of the debate with Kobe Bryant, but was adamant about Jordan being the GOAT. According to Stephon, Bron is an amazing player, but Jordan is untouchable in the debate.

As far as the Los Angeles Lakers go, he called out LeBron James and Anthony Davis for not allowing Westbrook to do what he does best and expecting anything but what he has to offer. He questioned LeBron’s ability to make an adjustment and spoke about how a smart basketball player like LeBron could not foresee how Westbrook would fit into the roster. Russel Westbrook had his worst season statistically since his rookie year with the Lakers. Anthony Davis faced another injury-prone season as LeBron failed to make the play-off for the second time in a Laker jersey.

Marbury went all out and blasted LeBron James and Anthony Davis. He spoke about relieving Russ from the blame.

Stephon said, “LeBron and Davis, them guys know what Russell Westbrook was before he got here. You can’t be that smart of a basketball player and not know who you’re getting, who you’re going to be playing with. Who’s making the adjustment? It can’t be blamed on Russell Westbrook.”
