Recently, at a press conference in Las Vegas, legendary boxer Floyd Mayweather spoke about his intention of buying an NBA team. He also hinted that the talks have already begun, and he is aiming to get a team in Las Vegas. A few days ago, even LeBron James claimed that he would want to own an NBA team and specifically after Las Vegas. People didn’t really have a positive response to Mayweather’s intention. 

Mayweather quoted, “I’ve been talking to certain individuals for the last six months,” Mayweather said regarding the idea of buying an NBA team. “That’s something I’ve been working on behind the scenes, but I’ve never came out and publicly talked about that with the media. Me and my team have been working behind the scenes with the NBA. I can’t say exactly where, but I’m working on getting a team.”

There are multiple reasons why the chances of Floyd not getting his NBA teams are high. One reason might be the bad PR he would bring in due to Logan Paul’s beef with him.

For those who don’t know, the duo had an exhibition boxing match that ended in a draw. Months later, Paul raised an allegation of Mayweather not paying him the promised money. The Youtuber has publicly called out the boxing legend for cheating him. Although as per reports, Floyd claimed that he has already paid his dues, fans refuse to believe it.

NBA fans ponder the prospect of LeBron James owning an NBA team with Mayweather

Fans are clearly not happy and have been mocking the boxer as soon as the news came out. They don’t believe him at all and believe that the YouTuber is being honest about not being paid.

While some believe that Mayweather is broke, others just feel he is unwilling to pay him. Many also questioned his academic studies and mocked him for not being well educated.

And some fans think that LeBron James and Floyd Mayweather could team up to own an NBA team.
