It is not secret that Shaquille O’Neal is one of the most popular figures in the history of the NBA. Despite retiring, he is everywhere: on the court, on billboards, on podcasts, on commercials, and so on. In fact, he was even named in a song by Cardi B. But her use of his name, in a vulgar song, got a harsh reality check from the 7-foot monster himself.
Cardi B released a new song in 2021 called ‘Up’ and she had a line in the song which referenced his enormous body. It went like, “I said my face bomb, a** tight/ Racks stack up Shaq height“.

The musician spoke about the big stacks of money she has and compared it to the former NBA player’s extremely tall frame. Shaquille O’Neal is a 7-foot-1 monster and weighs around 325 pounds.
While the song became a hit, O’Neal still gave it a reality check recently.
Shaquille O’Neal makes a brutal statement about celebrities
Shaq was on his podcast where one of his co-hosts talk about him being name-dropped in the song. And she asked the athlete if they had to ask his permission before using his name.
Answering the question, he said,” No, they don’t have to do anything, because it’s called a metaphor or bar. You know stacks sitting up as high as Shaq. I always take it as a compliment.”
O’Neal further talked about 50 Cent.
“Even if it’s a diss. 50 Cent had a song one day… A lot of people took that as a diss but I didn’t take it as a diss. Thank you 50 Cent for saying my name.”
“However, there are some people if you mention their name you have to call and ask permission… Because they think they’re bigger than the world… This is why I denounce myself from being a celebrity. Celebrities are a**h*les”
