Carmelo Anthony reveals call with LeBron James

Nothing was going Melo’s way when he wasn’t in the league for a year. However, it all changed when the Portland Trailblazers signed him. He accepted a smaller role and embraced it. Likewise, he became an important player for them off the bench.

But this season. they decided not to sign him, which is why he came to LA. But what exactly did LeBron say to Melo to convince him to join the Lakers? Well, it wasn’t much.

Carmelo said, “It was real call though, it wasn’t like no bulls**t. I wasn’t expecting it from him. I mean, we talked about it years before. And I heard it, that’s my brother, I knew him since we was fifteen sixteen. I heard it, like ‘yo, I need you.’ Say less, ain’t gotta say nothing, I already know what time it is.”

While they couldn’t team up years before, this time around it was a different story. Carmelo felt it, and that was all it took. He said: “He hit me and he was like, ‘yo champ, like the time is now.’ And I felt it, like I felt the time is now. Just a different vibe, different aura, different energy around, time is now.”

Are the Lakers better?

While injuries were the main story of last season, it was evident that there are several voids in their forces. However, with the new additions this season, all looks good.

One issue was the lack of a facilitator. Now, they have Russell Westbrook, who is the best in the business, being the assist leader with over 11 per game. Moreover, they also brought back Rajon Rondo from the Clippers to add depth in the point guard spot.

When it comes to shooting concerns, they have players like Carmelo Anthony and Wayne Ellington to provide shooting stability as well. Hence, there is no doubt that the front office has made tactical decisions to get better.
