Klay Thompson gets ejected from the game

The Golden State Warriors were already struggling to keep up with the score difference. However, during the third quarter, Klay Thompson got ejected for committing two consecutive technical fouls. Notably, this was the first ejection Thompson faced in his entire NBA career. Throughout the third quarter, Thompson was in a verbal duel with the Phoenix SunsDevin Booker. The two committed double technical fouls when they bumped chests during the last few minutes of the quarter.

But the matter didn’t end there for the five-time All-Star. As he was walking away from Booker, Suns player Mikal Bridges ran into Thompson, who in response shoved Bridges and ended up getting his second technical. This led to Thompson’s ejection from the game. When Thompson was walking out of the court, he looked towards the Suns’ bench and made a gesture that fans speculated might have meant, ‘only time will tell’.

The Twitterati then worked their magic as they came forth to comment on the incident. While some tweeted in support of Thompson, others commented that Stephen Curry and former Warriors player Kevin Durant were the ones who carried Thompson.

After the game, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr stated that Thompson has been struggling with having to play under the minutes restrictions due to health issues. Furthermore, Kerr stated that the team has a lot to work on.

“We lost our way. We’ve got a lot of work to do. We’re not a finished product, by any means…we’re nowhere close to where we need to be right now. We’re a very poor defensive team and that doesn’t win in this league,” said Kerr.
