Paul Pierce turned 45 on October 13th and celebrated his birthday in wild fashion. Apparently, his friends brought the former Boston Celtics great an NSFW cake honoring the incident that led to his firing from ESPN.

His birthday cake had an image on it that recalled his IG Live scandal from last year. Pierce does not seem to be bothered by the incident anymore which startled the NBA world at the time. In fact, he took to Twitter to reveal the cake given to him by his “boys” which showcased the NSFW moment that drew him a great deal of backlash.

The cake featured a snapshot of Pierce taking a selfie with a woman in a promiscuous position. As the 10-time NBA All-Star celebrated his birthday, he was a good sport as he made use of the cake to commemorate the infamy of that incident.

For context, Pierce landed himself in hot water after an IG Live in April of last year. As the Celtics icon streamed, it seemed as if he and his friends gathered for a game of poker. Furthermore, the group was surrounded by exotic dancers, which added to the controversy.

While Pierce didn’t seem concerned about the potential repercussions, the people at ESPN definitely didn’t hold back. The former NBA champion gained notoriety as an NBA analyst for ESPN post-retirement; however, they fired him shortly after the incident.

However, he didn’t seem to be bothered by his firing as he posted a video of himself on Twitter later, promising “big things” to come soon.

Pierce was associated with ESPN since his retirement from the game in 2017. In fact, the former Boston Celtics star became infamous for his outlandish takes.
