Will Westbrook join Boston Celtics?
Fans expected the Lakers trio of LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Russell Westbrook to counter the Brooklyn Nets. The Nets trio of Kevin Durant, James Harden, and Kyrie Irving looked sensational on paper just like Lakers’. And despite keeping Irving on the sidelines, the Nets have performed well this season.
According to HoopsHype, “The Boston Celtics are a team that could use a more traditional point guard, and Westbrook theoretically could be a decent fit there since their best lineup would have three good shooters surrounding him.“

Russell Westbrook’s huge salary is a major obstacle, as not many teams can afford him. Al Horford, Josh Richardson, and Juancho Hernangomez of the Boston Celtics combined amount for the same salary as Russell Westbrook.
His contract will pose a problem as interested teams need to figure out a way in order to land the signature of the point guard. Westbrook’s future with the Lakers remains in jeopardy with dismal performances all season.
Russell Westbrook this season
Westbrook has been on the receiving end of fans, analysts, and former players. They have bashed Westbrook and Anthony Davis mercilessly for their play and inability to find form.
Westbrook was brought in by the Lakers on a $91 million contract till 2023. During the match against Memphis Grizzlies, the Lakers bottled a third-quarter lead. Despite scoring a triple-double in that match, Westbrook committed five errors which led to the Lakers losing the game.
The Lakers should explore every possibility to trade Russell Westbrook. Russ will never win a championship with this aloof defense. Not to mention his reckless shot selection. And it’s been happening his whole career, even in big moments of playoff games. Russ will never change. https://t.co/fxQLhPwr1X

The Memphis game pretty much sums up Westbrook’s season so far. He has committed far too many costly errors, especially during the fourth quarter of the game. “Russ has very loud, very important mistakes. High leverage mistakes and moments have been a major problem for Russ all year round,” said Brian Kamenetzky of the Locked on Lakers podcast.
Westbrook averages 19.5 points per game,8.2 rebounds, and 8.4 assists this season. With the Lakers struggling for a playoff spot, Westbrook really needs to up his game.
