Kevin Durant trade talks are running wild with time. Having one of the best players of this generation gives the Brooklyn Nets massive leverage. Likewise, they are putting it to full use. After Durant’s trade request, the Nets aren’t giving up their biggest asset without an equal return. So when the Boston Celtics got in the talks, they knew they had to go big. They offered their All-Star guard, Jaylen Brown in exchange for the Slim Reaper. However, despite his name coming up in stature, Brown doesn’t want to leave the city.

Brown has donned the Boston Celtics jersey for his entire career so far. After a slow rookie year, he picked things up quickly and showed the NBA what he is capable of. Moreover, with Jayson Tatum coming in, their duo has led the Celtics to major success. He played a critical role in their Finals appearance this season. Averaging 23.5?points and 7.3 rebounds in the series, the All-Star gave his best. But despite the mammoth effort, Boston is reportedly ready to give him up.

Jaylen Brown is not fazed by Kevin Durant rumors

After making it to the NBA Finals for the first time in 12 seasons, the Celtics fell just one step short. Their young core couldn’t match up against a stacked Golden State Warriors roster with championship pedigree. The Jayson Tatum and Brown duo sent a strong message through the postseason. However, after getting a taste of success, the Celtics want to finish the job. Hence, they went after the biggest player on the market, Kevin Durant.

According to the reports, the 17-time champs offered Brown in a package for the Slim Reaper. However, the Nets also expect them to add the reigning DPOY, Marcus Smart. The recent news suggests Brown still wants to take it ahead with the Boston Celtics despite being the headline of a potential blockbuster trade.

While Brown had made his intentions clear, Boston may need to go back to the drawing board as well. Chasing Kevin Durant is arguably never the wrong move. However, the Celtics have probably one of the finest cores in the NBA right now. All of their stars are extremely young and far from their prime. Brown is just 25 and has proved he can deliver on the big stage. There is no doubt that he has a lot of growth to do. But Boston can easily build around Tatum and Brown.

Moreover, they have valuable pieces around such as Smart and Robert Williams. after falling short of the title last season, it’s clear the Boston Celtics are desperate to make it back. And building around their current core could be the best option.
