The NBA family is always supporting one another through thick and thin. However, controversy never fails to make its way in. Chicago legend, Scottie Pippen has been at the center of another controversy recently. He called out his coach, Jordan, and even Charles Barkley.

Pippen has taken shots at multiple NBA superstars following the ‘Last Dance’ and the release of his new book. At first, Barkley kept his calm and let Scottie off the hook. However, this time around, Barkley wasn’t ready to take it on the chin.

Charles Barkley responds to Scottie

In an interview with GQ, Pippen talked about his past feud with Charles and spoke about how Barkley was not a real tough guy. He said that the Hall of Famer has never fought anyone unless the referees were around, and all he did was throw some little guys out the window. Well, after staying silent this so far, the Phoenix star finally responded. Charles Barkley said: “I don’t walk around saying I’m Billy Badass, but I can promise you one thing I’m tougher than Scottie Pippen. Let me put that to rest right now.”

Ironically, these two superstars got along very well during their time with the ‘Dream Team’. Charles even called the 6-time champion one of his good friends. This is the reason everyone was surprised because Pippen went on an onslaught about many NBA stars.

There is no doubt that is drama is going to continue. But, what started it off between these two giants of basketball?

What happened between them?

Pippen and Barkley became good friends after playing together in 1992. After that, in 1999, Scottie joined the Houston Rockets with Charles and Hakeem. Unsurprisingly, NBA fans had high expectations for this trio. However, they did not live up to the expectations.

So, Pippen decided to leave Houston after just one season, but not before going off on Barkley. He took major shots at Charles before leaving and even called him fat. Naturally, Charles took offense and went as far as saying that he would be arrested for attempted murder if Pippen does not apologize.

The reason Charles Barkley got so angry was the fact that he made certain moves in order to let Pippen join Houston. He took a major pay cut, which would allow the Rockets to sign Scottie in the first place. Hence, this betrayal upset Barkley beyond belief, which gave rise to their feud.
